Community EngageMent

This five or six week program exposes children to ballet and classical music through the presentation of fairy tales. The program is offered in school. Literature through Dance has operated in partnership with Community Unit School District 201, the Village of Westmont and other Chicagoland schools.

Single sessions are also available, and have been offered at Hinsdale Public Library, Maercker School in Westmont, and Clissold Elementary in Chicago.

" Miller students were fully engaged in the program, laughing at Ms. Stokes' costumes, listening attentively to the oral reading of a fairy tale and then enthusiastically participating in the dance lesson which followed."
~ Kelly Baas, Principal, Miller School District 201

Artistic Director, Sergey Kozadayev offers a preview of upcoming performances and a brief ballet class demonstration. Accompanied by SCB company dancers, dressed in beautifully made costumes, our visiting artists share insights to the production and artistic process. Great preparation for upcoming field trips and groups!

Lecture demonstrations run 1 hour and can be tailored to fit the needs of your retirement community or other community group.
