Patricia SigurdsonPatricia Sigurdson, Founding Artistic Director
Mrs. Sigurdson’s early training began in Denver and continued at the Royal Ballet School in London. In New York, she trained with Frederick Franklin and Robert Joffrey before joining Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and then American Ballet Theatre. With ABT she was on the historic European tour which culminated in six weeks behind the iron curtain – ABT being the first American ballet company to perform there. This professional experience, plus teaching posts at National Music Camp, the Interlochen Arts Academy and elsewhere, provided an ideal background on which to build a ballet school and company in Chicago’s western suburbs. Many of Mrs. Sigurdson's students have gone on to distinguished professional careers in dance.
