Pre-Professional Classes

SCB Company & Level H Technique & Pointe

Salt Creek Ballet School offers a dynamic evening program featuring technique, pointe, variations, character, and contemporary dance to develop versatile dancers. We are committed to nurturing healthy, resilient artists through a holistic approach that includes professional dancer talks and dance conditioning. Our Artist Programme broadens students’ horizons, fosters creative risk-taking, and unlocks opportunities within and beyond ballet through engagements with working artists and university professors.
Throughout the year, SCB students perform over 13 times on major public stages and participate in outreach events, which are vital to their artistic growth and technical mastery. These performances—from intimate in-school showcases to grand public productions—teach students to transform ballet vocabulary into captivating experiences, preparing them for the stage both physically and mentally. The Artistic Directors curate a rich repertoire of classical and contemporary works, showcasing the unique talents of each student at every stage of their development.

SCB Company & Level H Variations

Dancers immerse themselves in the repertoire of famous classical and neoclassical ballets, honing both their artistry and technique. Our faculty, drawing from their own rich performance experience, provide students with the essential tools to turn classwork into expressive, compelling art.

SCB Company & Level H Character

Character dance is an integral part of the classical ballet repertoire and techniques. One of the expressive means of ballet theater teaches students how to convey the character, style, and manner of performing folk dances, develops dance technique, expressiveness, and musicality. Character helps dancers gain a deeper understanding of story ballets while boosting strength and also develops the coordination required to become versatile dancers. Entail complex upper-lower body opposition, épaulement, heel-toe footwork, and tensegrity in movement qualities.

SCB Company & Level H Contemporary

Contemporary is a genre of dance that incorporates elements of both classical ballet and modern dance. Contemporary ballet represents a departure from the restraints of traditional classical ballet techniques and traditional rules of composition. Contemporary by definition means happening or existing at the same time and is often used to describe works that are created in the present or recent past. These works tend to reflect the moods, ideas, events, and feelings of the time of their creation and do not always have specific stories or librettos. Contemporary choreographers sometimes infuse their choreography with these themes and ask the audience to think more deeply about the meaning of the work instead of telling them what to think and how to interpret it.
