COVID-19 REOPENING PROCEDURES

As always, the safety of our students is top priority.

At Salt Creek Ballet we want you to know we take the health and safety of you and your family very seriously! We will continue to follow all safety regulations and protocols in accordance to local government to insure the well-being of our students, faculty and staff. Rest assured we are taking every precaution so everyone will be safe at Salt Creek Ballet.

DROP OFF AND PICK UP Please arrive 5 – 10 minutes early to drop off and pick up your child. Class times have been scheduled so large groups do not arrive or depart at/from Salt Creek Ballet at the same time. Children will only be allowed to enter the building 5 minutes prior to their first scheduled class time and if there is a line to enter, dancers must wait in line, 6 feet apart. Dancers are not allowed to wait inside the building for parents to pick them up after class, as this will cause a clustering in the lobby area. We know things can happen and if you are running late to pick up your child please call the desk so we can arrange a safe waiting area for your child. If it is your child’s first time at Salt Creek Ballet we can schedule a visit prior to the first day of classes.

MASKS All people, including dancers, faculty and staff will be required to wear a face mask at all times, including during class. A minimum 2-ply/2-layer covering is required. Gators and bandannas are not 2-ply/2-layer and therefore DO NOT qualify as masks. Faculty and staff members may wear masks and additional face shields for added protection.

TEMPERATURE CHECKS A staff member will take the temperature of every person entering the building via contactless thermometer. If a temperature reads above 98.6F the dancer/visitor may be asked to go home.

HAND SANITIZER Hand sanitizer dispensers will be located in the lobby and at the entrance of every dance studio. All dancers must use hand sanitizer before entering all classes. If a dancer has skin sensitivities, please have your dancer bring the appropriate hand sanitizer with them. Washing hands before coming to the Salt Creek Ballet is recommended as well.

SHOES To keep Salt Creek Ballet as clean as possible all dancers will be required to remove their shoes in the lobby, as to not track dirt and pathogens into the building. There will be an area in the lobby to keep the shoes organized.

NO DRESSING ROOMS We will not be allowing students to use the dressing rooms to minimize areas where dancers can congregate. After check in they will go directly to the dance studio. Please have your children get ready for dance before arriving to the studio. They should be dressed in the appropriate dance attire as well as have their hair in a bun.

DANCE BAGS Dancers are required to keep all their belongings in their dance bags, dance shoes, warm ups, hair necessities, a water bottle, an extra mask, hand sanitizer, etc. Keep mindful during fall and winter outerwear must also be placed in their dance bag after arrival. There will be a specified area to keep all dance bags in the studios.

DANCE STUDIO PROTOCOL There will be a 15-minute break between class periods to allow minimum traffic in hallways. In each studio there will be a marked off area at the barre with a corresponding marked off area in the center of the room for each dancer. Each marked off area will be at least 6 feet apart to maintain proper social distancing. Dancers are responsible for sanitizing the barre and floor before and after every class. Multiple sanitizer spray bottles will be available in each room and the spray bottles will be sanitized after every use.

HYBRID LEARNING Each class will have a virtual Zoom class scheduled at the same time for dancers to take the classes online. If your child is feeling ill please allow them to rest and stay home. We will determine if we need to have an alternating in-studio/virtual learning rotation, depending on class sizes. The hardwiring of each studio’s internet connection is currently being installed during the summer break.

RESTROOMS Dancers are allowed to go to the restroom by first asking permission from the instructor and then alerting the desk staff. Only one person is allowed in the bathroom at a time. The desk staff will then sanitize the bathroom after each use. Please have your child use the restroom at home before they arrive.

NO WAITING AREA The waiting areas will only be used when necessary. Parents are no longer allowed to wait for their children in the building. Parents are allowed to enter with an appointment.

CLEANING All touchable in-studio surfaces will be sanitized before and after each class including, barres, and floor areas. The restrooms and common areas will be cleaned and sanitized throughout the day (approximately every hour). There will also be a deep cleaning of the studios at the end of every day.

COVID-19 WAIVER Each family will be required to fill and sign a COVID-19 Waiver, which can be done prior to the beginning of the each semester. Please keep your child home if they are experiencing symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell, or if your child has had close contact with any person diagnosed with COVID-19.
