Experience the magnificent sight of ballerinas in white tutus moving in unison: one of ballet’s most iconic images. Confusion, forgiveness, and a joyous ending with Siegfried and Odette together forever round off the story as one of the most popular and adored ballets by children and adults alike.

Don Quixote 2024

“Don Quixote” is a comedic romance set against the sun-drenched landscapes of Spain, underscored by the vibrant compositions of Ludwig Minkus. The hallmark of this ballet lies in its fabulous and incredible dancing, captivating audiences from the very beginning to the grand finale. Drawing inspiration from Miguel de Cervantes’ epic 17th-century novel, the ballet narrates the tale of Don Quixote, an imaginative old knight who, spurred by a vision, embarks on a quest with his loyal companion Sancho Panza to find the idealized Dulcinea.

Adding to the magic of the production, the dancers seamlessly incorporate tambourines and Spanish fans into their routines, creating a rhythmic and visually stunning display. The lively music, combined with the percussive beats of tambourines and the graceful movements of Spanish fans, adds an extra layer of excitement and cultural richness to the performance.

As their adventures unfold, leading them to Kitri, the spirited daughter of an innkeeper, the dancers use tambourines and Spanish fans to accentuate the joy and celebration of the story. Kitri, in defiance of an arranged marriage to the wealthy Gamache, chooses love with her true passion, Basilio, the charming barber. Don Quixote, ever the romantic, intervenes to rescue Kitri from a loveless union.

To further enhance the enchanting atmosphere, confetti showers down during pivotal moments, creating a visually stunning and celebratory experience for the audience.

“Don Quixote” is not just a tale of romance but a narrative brimming with hope, comedy, and, of course, love. The inclusion of a donkey character adds a touch of humor, enriching the overall experience. The ballet promises enjoyment for the entire family, creating lasting memories with its heartwarming and entertaining storyline.

This production features international guest artists who will grace the stage in the principal roles of Kitri and Basilio, showcasing the famous pas de deux in Act III. Additionally, the Salt Creek Ballet dancers contribute their sublime talents as the Corps de Ballet, portraying Dryads and wood nymphs in the dream sequence of Act II.
